A 65-year-old woman is brought to the emergency department by Ambulance after suddenly experiencing weakness on one side of her body and difficulty speaking. Her family reports that she had been well minutes before but suddenly became unable to move her right arm and leg. Upon arrival, the woman is found to have slurred speech and weakness in her right arm and leg. The medical team quickly performs a neurological assessment and orders a CT scan of her brain and which reveals evidence of a blocked blood vessel in the brain.
